Surfside Beach 13th Ave is an exposed beachbreak in the heart of Surfside Beach — known as the Family Beach on the Grand Strand. This break only works once in a while, with the best conditions when a southeast swell combines with northwest offshore winds. It picks up a mix of groundswells and windswells, and waves break as both lefts and rights. Like most of the Grand Strand, conditions are inconsistent and tide-dependent. The best time of year is winter, with December producing the most consistent clean and surfable waves — around 26% of December days seeing clean conditions. The laid-back, family-friendly atmosphere of Surfside Beach makes this a great spot for all skill levels.
