Break Details
Litchfield Beach is a wide, beautiful, and largely uncrowded beachbreak set back in a slightly recessed part of the South Carolina Hammock Coast. According to Surfline, North Litchfield is a residential area with marginal surf if it is waist to chest high here, it is probably chest to head at Huntington Beach State Park or Pawleys Island. The break works on all swells and produces scattered peaks ideal for all types of surfers. Hard northeast and southwest winds can produce strong currents but conditions are generally pretty mellow. There is an inlet with a small sandspit at the south end that can work well on strong south and east swells. The best time of year is late summer, early fall, and early spring. Litchfield Beach was ranked as one of the Top 10 beaches in the United States by TripAdvisor.
Best conditions: South or east swell, offshore winds, late summer, early fall, early spring
